Sorry guys, probably a dumb question - i have been using Fedora all along, and googling for best linux pointed me to this one for laptops, so i try to download it, and i get a 50M file as the iso.
is that just the kernel? with fedora i never had to specify what i wanted - i always got the kernel plus all the goodies.
am i missing something?

You either have a corrupt download (did you verify the md5sum) or maybe
you have the net-booting installer ISO which will just get the installer
going and then do the rest from the Internet (be sure you have a working
connection for that). If you download the full install images they will
be much larger.

Thanks. Pretty sure it’s not a corrupt install, because the download at the very beginning is telling me that it’s a 49M file, so it’s likely the bootstrap thingy.
but i’m going to software.opensuse.org: Download openSUSE 11.3
and choosing the standard “DVD” option, which should then give me the whole shebang, but it doesn’t.
This forum software isn’t smart enough to upload screenshots (the insert image only takes web urls) so i can’t show you what i’m seeing.
What am i doing wrong? >:(
