openSUSE updater

Hello,

I just did a Fresh Install of openSUSE 11.0 on my HD, and I am running KDE4.0 on it.

After the install everything looked its working allright untill, I opened SUSE updater to update my system and it keep giving me this error message:
“kdesu(19014)/kdesu (kdelibs) KDESu::KDEsuClient::command: [/usr/scr/packages/BUILD/kdelibs-4.0.4/kdesu/client.cpp:196] no reply from daemon”

Any ideas on how to resolve this matter, please?

I really like openSUSE and I don’t want to switch back to Windows :frowning:

Try it from the CLI then (console/konsole);


sudo zypper ref
sudo zypper lu
sudo zypper up

The first command refreshes the repositories, the second lists any
updates, the third will apply the updates.

Since your running KDE 4.0.x, there are a lot of issues with KDE4 off
the dvd install, I suggest you have a look here and upgrade to 4.1

KDE4

If not, consider dropping back to KDE3 for a more stable desktop.

First of all, I would like to thank you so much for helping a newb like me :slight_smile:

I did all the commands that you asked me to but no success!!
but when I updated my 4.0 to 4.1 and I tried again IT WORKED LIKE A CHARM. So thank you so much again and I appreciate the great help!
