openSUSE update

I am running a recently installed, openSUSE 12.3, KDE 4.10 and poking around trying to learn it.

There was a notification about an update to openSUSE-2013-609 so I told him to proceed.
Well, a gob (300+) of updates are trying to happen and I get a message about “a restart is needed”.
I am unclear if I am to restart right now or wait until the rest of the downloading finishes.
It is in the middle of downloading iproute2 with q message at the top " Waiting for service to start - Apper"

What do I do now.

Oh yeah, somewhere at the beginning of this process I got an error message about a service being unreachable. I tried to take a screen shot but I failed to grab it.
And then I got this one.

Dang, it is hard to read.
