openSUSE Tumbleweed about in settings showing Ubuntu logo

HI All! Hope this finds everyone well. :slight_smile:

Fairly new to openSUSE Tumbleweed and loving it! I noticed in the “About” tab in settings is showing the Ubuntu logo instead of the openSUSE logo. I was at one point dual booting with Ubuntu but not anymore (dual booting w/ another OS).

I inserted a link to the image to see what I mean.

Thank you!!

Hi and welcome to the Forum :slight_smile:
I suspect an installed theme and distributor-logo.svg is not a link to the openSUSE distributor logo in /usr/share/pixmaps/distribution-logos/square-hicolor.svg

ls -la ~/.icons/la-capitaine-icon-theme-0.6.0/places/scalable/distributor-logo.svg
lrwxrwxrwx 1 username users 56 Apr 19 15:13 /home/username/.icons/la-capitaine-icon-theme-0.6.0/places/scalable/distributor-logo.svg -> /usr/share/pixmaps/distribution-logos/square-hicolor.svg

Hi and thank you, Malcolm!

I went in here /usr/share/pixmaps/distribution-logos/square-hicolor.svg and did see the openSUSE logos there. How can I change it to the right logo?

Thank you for your help, BTW!!:slight_smile:

I’m guessing your using a theme for your desktop, you need to look in there for the file called distributor-logo.svg (which is probably a softlink) and change to point at the openSUSE one. If the theme has a script it’s likely not the correct detection, hence the error…

Malcolm my friend I was able to figure it out!

It was like you said. The issue was the icon theme. I was using Yaru icon theme and when I switch to another theme, poof! Issue solved!

Thanks again and be safe out there!!:):good:
