Opensuse to usb problems

Hi all. I cant seem to get any were on booting from my usb flash drive. I used unetbootin-windows-312 to dump the iso,to the flash drive. The boot loader comes up and starts but I get a message cant Find Live Image File. I’m finding it very hard to get most stuff to boot from a flash drive. Im wondering why that is. I can get konoppix to boot from a flash drive, and UBCD but noting else.

i’m having the same problem,i can’t boot either the opensuse CD or DVD from flash

It certainly is possible, but temperamental. I managed it using these

EeeUser ASUS Eee PC Forum / openSUSE onto SDHC without CD drive -> STUCK!

instructions when that thread was written, but now for the life of me I can’t make it work. There is also a lot of information in the wiki…

If I can work out what I did before I’ll let you know (:

No it boots fine it will stop it tells me it cant fine the image
I can get knoppix to boot fine just not opensue

If you boot to windows, have a look at the usb stick and you will find there is probably a file of zero length. Try overwriting it with the one from the /boot (?) folder. (don’t have the drive with me. but I had a missing vesamenu.32 file)
