Opensuse thumbleweed software app issues

Hi I have uninstalled and blocked a lots of dependencies as much as I like using Thumbleweed I never liked the super bloated gnome DE but now when there is software updates in software app. I get this error each time is there a way to fix this but with out I have to install all the preinstalled bloat and then lock again ? I hope someone could help me, or is it just better to install again Aeon OS because I am a bit tired of all the tings the comes with Thumbleweed and Leap too, I hope the devs could make less bloated in future ?

the installed gnome-session-wayland-47.0.1-5.1.x86_64 requires ‘gnome-session = 47.0.1’, but this requirement cannot be provided
the to be installed gnome-calculator-lang-48.1-1.1.noarch requires ‘gnome-calculator = 48.1’, but this requirement cannot be provided
the to be installed gnome-shell-search-provider-gnome-calculator-48.1-1.1.x86_64 requires ‘gnome-calculator = 48.1’, but this requirement cannot be provided
the installed gnome-session-47.0.1-5.1.x86_64 requires ‘gnome-session-core = 47.0.1’, but this requirement cannot be provided

@EmilioL Your system is not up to date… How have you been managing moving to new snapshots? You need to be using zypper dup only?

Or are you using non-standard repositories?

Huh I just used Zypper dup more or less because the software app never really worked it was very slow, also because my internet is crazy unstable like one min its 2 mega bit next its 100 and so on, I have been considering moving to the openSUSE Aeon because its easier to remove and app preinstalled and not thinking more about it, I blocked many apps on YAST but apparently I blocked something so I cannot update

I forgot to mention I use flathub and the original ones

Yes, I think you better move to openSUSE Aeon if you think Leap/Tumbleweed is bloated and that that is a problem.

The only thing I do not see why Flatpack is a better solution:

@EmilioL well you seem to have locked something, if you run zypper ll to list locked files and check. If this an old install, then look at using preload, for example env ZYPP_PCK_PRELOAD=1 zypper -vvv dup

@marel I use flatpaks here (Tumbleweed and Aeon), negates the need for packman and issues with that… Like Aeon I only install as my user not system.

That link is from Nov 2021, and the “complaint” about excessive disk usage ended up being a bug (temp files not cleaned up), which was fixed Feb 2022 (see the last two posts) - so just over three years ago.

But yes, using Flatpaks uses a bit more disk space, but it has its advantages.
