Hi,
I really don’t know if it’s a bug or just a regular thing. Sometimes, my openSUSE totally freezes when opening an application such as VLC media player, Kaffeine, Firefox, etc. such that the mouse cursor stops moving, power buttons stop working, computer doesn’t react to any keys, … :. Anyone else getting a similar problem? Just in case if it’s connected to hardware or software configuration, here is all the info:
Gateway M-6874h laptop
OpenSUSE 11.1
KDE 4.2.3 “release 3”
Intel Core 2 Duo CPU T7500 @ 2.20Hz
3GB RAM
ATI Radeon HD 2600 (Driver 2.1.8591)
NO. Not happening for me.
Look in hidden .xsession-errors
see if there are any clues.
how you do that? im a newbie :X
Open file browser and go to ‘View’
select Show Hidden Files
By default when you open your /home
you will be in your username dir
/home/username
it’s in there
all files and folders that are hidden have (.) period before the name
another easy way to view it is like this from a terminal
cat /home/your_user_name/.xsession-errors
