I tried both SaX2, Control Panel to force my monitor to higher resolution but after restart, nothing happened.
I also checked on HP website HP Compaq LA2405x 24-inch LED Backlit LCD Monitor
to see if they have any driver for OpenSUSE. Unfortunately, their drivers are only available for Windows.
So what should I do now? Any advice?
Hello, welcome here.
You should be aware of he fact that openSUSE 11.2 is out of support for a long time. That means that it will be difficult to find any software you might need. It will also be difficult to find people that stiill have 11.2 to try to help you from first hand knowledge.
Also it could be that a newer verion of openSUSE supports your monitor out of the box.
Best is to go and install openSUSE 12.3. When you then still encounter the same problem, you will then find many people here usiing 12.3.
Hi there,
I wish I could install 12.3 since I need this version 11.2 in order to install zPDT (a software product to simulate mainframe from IBM). So is there any other alternative solution? Thanks in advance.

A current openSUSE version running vmware player or virtual box, and
inside, 11.2.
Or perhaps what you need is SLES, not openSUSE.
