Hello everybody,
I’m working with the “new” Raspberry Pi Compute Module 3. I’m trying to install OpenSuse on that board. I used the latest image https://en.opensuse.org/HCL:Raspberry_Pi3#Installing_the_64-bit_openSUSE_Leap_image.
Unfortunately, that doesn’t work. I thought that maybe CM3 is not supported by OpenSuse.
If that is the case, I’m wondering if there is hope that a version supporting the CM3 board will come out soon. Thank you.
Kind regards,
Anis.
FWIW: Since late last year there is a Raspi 2 B (version 1.2), which has the same 64-bit CPU as the Raspi 3. Someone tried to run TW aarch64 made for the Raspi 3 on this machine, didn’t work. Speculation was due to device tree (see opensuse forum at raspberry forums). So: I guess little hope so far. The opensuse versions are highly customized for each platform. Only raspian runs without problem on all platforms, afaik and in my experience (zero, 1B, 2B+, 3B)…
Hi
If you also join IRC Freenode #opensuse-arm or hit the mailing list https://en.opensuse.org/Communicate (opensuse-arm) there maybe some users working with the compute module and offer some pointers.
