It looks like the website was last updated in 2013. Are there plans to modernize the look of the landing page? I also think the lack of the chameleon logo in the top left just looks off. If the page is in source control I would be willing to work on it and do a PR.

So, no.

There is a web and wiki mail list where you can ask. Contributors are

Thanks, I just joined the Marketing mailing list and found this info about the new site in the archive (http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-marketing/2015-05/msg00019.html):
Design Mockup -

Working Mockup - http://cyntss.github.io/opensuse-landing-page/#
Ohhh dear. I just found out about these new mockups, and while they look fantastic for use on phones… they’re pretty useless on desktops. It’s one humongous waste of space, the headline animation and the animations on scrolling are really jarring, and there’s almost no important technical information on it. It reminds me of how presentations look like if someone plays around with the transition and click effects for no reason.
I’d say it would be nice for m.opensuse.org, but don’t have that as the main website for desktops. If you look at the current site, you’ll see how much more nicely everything is compressed and how much more you can do on it.
So in essence it’s a modern website because that’s what a lot of sites look like nowadays, with large elements, scrolling background and animations.
I doubt they mean it to be used by technically minded people but your ‘average users’.

If it is the one at github, it uses a huge lot of CPU. Javascript, I think.
