OpenSuse on Lenovo ThinkServer TS140 70A4003AUX

Hello All:
Can you please suggest which OpenSuse (Leap or Tumbleweed) I could install on Lennovo ThinkServer TS140 70A4003AUX.
This is a basic server from Lennovo comes with:
CPU: Intel Xeon E3-1226 v3 3.3 GHz
RAM: 4GB DDR3-1600 ECC (max. 32GB allowed)
HDD: None (has to buy separate)
OS: None
RAID support: RAID 0/1/5/10

I am planning to run this box with OpenSuse (either Leap or Tumbleweed) and install two separate servers running on VMs for my home based business. The servers are:

  1. Linux based Video surveillance system ZoneMinder
  2. FreePBX telephony PBX system

You can use either but since Tumbleweed changes so often IMHO is better to go with the less changing Leap for a server

I have both Tumbleweed and Leap installed in separate partitions on my TS140 (probably an older model).

For the your planned use, I suggest Leap.

Thanks for the reply. As suggested, I’ll go for Leap.

Another request to all:
I just read in a blog, the Lennovo TS140 server sometimes causes trouble while operating on Linux based OS. According to the blogger, that machine is ‘truly’ built for WIndows server. Is there anyone here who has experience of using OpenSuse (Leap) on Lennovo TS140 server ?

Please share your experience and suggestion, if any.

I have not had any problems with my TS140 running linux (opensuse).

Thanks for the reply.
