OpenSuSE Li-f-e 13.1 YaST won't load. Also I am a newbie

Hi All

HP G60 AMD64 Turion X2

Here is what I am doing. https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Add_package_repositories#YaST_software_repositories

Start YaST by clicking on it under Software in your menu

YaST prompts for password. I enter. Then nothing. No error messages. Nothing at all happens. So I open terminal and at the command prompt type: sudo yast

root’s password:

Enter password and returns to the command line. Nothing happens.

I am sorry I cannot supply any more info than this.

Thank you for your suggestion. What I think happened is I loaded some programs from the update icon in the lower right hand part of tool bar. After the installs YaST no longer worked. So I re-installed SuSE Li-f-e 13.1 and only updated through YaST. I no longer have any problems with installing packages such as Thunderbird.
