OpenSuse Leap Software update via YAST or Zypper

I am a new user of OpenSuse/Leap.
I downloaded and copied the .iso onto a USB stick, and installed it on my desktop, with KDE.
I keep getting notifications stating “inability to connect to repositories”
although I can ‘su’ login to YAST and click on the software update, BUT !!! for the update to launch it asks for the USB to be plugged in. after I do and click retry, the updates occur without any problem.
I also tried zypper, and got the same request, looking for the USB.
researched the forums and documentations and I can’t find anything referring to this issue.
is it normal behavior/feature, or is there something I can do to stop it.

btw: OpenSuse Leap is great, with few exceptions/annoyances, which I will review in another post.
longtime Debian user…

Hi
This is normal, you need to disable the install device repository, fire up YaST -> Software Repositories, highlight the USB device (probably #1 in the list) and uncheck the enabled and refresh check boxes and save.

Opps, just noticed this is in the wrong place, moving to install/boot subforum…

Hi
Thread moved and reopened.

Thanks a lot for the quick reply. Issue SOLVED
