openSUSE Leap: AppArmor or SELinux?

Packman ain’t openSUSE and, openSUSE ain’t Packman – the Packman folks would need to have openSUSE specific VMs which use the openSUSE SELinux profile when building the openSUSE Packman packages.

  • I have absolutely no idea if, the Packman folks would buy into that idea.

Yes, it seems that Zypper is the culprit here or, given that, the Bash shell used by the user “root” also produces an incorrect SELinux label when “tee” writes a file, the real culprit could be the CLI shell … :smiling_imp:

Yes, there is something in a mailing list somewhere which mentions that a flag has to be set to force a relabeling at the next reboot.

touch /.autorelabel which is described in the link @dcurtisfra provided?

  1. Request a relabel of files next boot.

Somehow interesting which way this thread is taking…

@C7NhtpnK:

Agreed but, my experience is, that SELinux is nice and, it does the job it’s supposed to do.

@dcurtisfra

Agreed but, what I can see here is some trouble! :open_mouth: :wink:

I’ve not any real issues with it on my Test systems, but they are not in use day to day…
