Opensuse Leap 42.2 installation freezes at realtek network driver

Hi,
I just got an ASUS ROG GW752 and downloaded the latest LEAP 42.2 ISO image: openSUSE-Leap-42.2-DVD-x86_64
(PS: I have LEAP 42.1 running on my desktop)

I burned the image to DVD and booted. I selected “Install”. Everything starts fine

'Loading basic drivers …ok
ahci*
usb
wifi …ok
But then
'Realtek RTL8111/8168/8411 …
drivers: r8169*
And the system hangs!

I would try as suggested to boot with “brokenmodules=…” but there is no more possibility to add parameters in 42.2 as it was in all previous OpenSuse versions incl. 42.1.
The selection screen to chose Installation Upgrade etc. does not show the menu at the bottom any more, if I just press ‘F3’ nothing happens.

Any chance to add a parameter or skip the driver?

You are booting in EFI mode. Press ‘e’ (for “edit”) on menu entry, then directly add kernel parameter on line starting with “linuxefi”. Boot with F10.

I will try that next time.
I did install with a Leap42.1 DVD (and yes: the F2 etc. display was missing there as well. Must be the uefi )
Then upgraded with the 42.2 DVD.

Note that when making changes to grub settings at boot it is not permanent to make the change stick change in yast-boot
