openSUSE leap 42.1 freezing at log in

Hello. I am trying to do a fresh install of Leap.

The install is successful, but every time I type in my log in password, the screen greys out and does not proceed.

I am wondering if it could be video drivers, even though the log in screen looks just fine.

I am using an i7-4790K and a GTX 750 TI graphics card. Please let me know what other information would be helpful.

I am also facing the same issue with GTX750 TI graphics card. As told i added the community repository fro nvidia through the konsole yast. Then executed the

zypper inr

which installed the G04 driver for nvidia. Then after restart i can see a clear blank screen with 3 plasma crashed error window with a mouse pointer is seen. CTRL+ALT+F1 is also not showing the konsole. By assuming the konsole is there executed the command reboot. At the grub press e then find the line linux. Then at the end

nomodeset
. Then press F10 to boot. Now i can enter the konsole with CTRL+ALT+F1 but not to plasma desktop.

I dont know what to do. I was using SuSE since version 10.3. This is the first time i was totally upset about linux. For the past 1 week i am behind this. Win7 working perfect

Change to xrandr in the KDE settings from openGL

That seems to help some people and yes lots seem to be having problem

If you don’t have time to fool with it drop back to 13.2 it is supported for another year. Leap is a big leap and Plasma 5 is not as polished as it should be IMO
