Anyone notice this?
There are a lot of mornings recently when it might take a long time for the openSUSE forums to open in a browser, if at all.
Am pretty sure I have this tracked down…
Try doing a traceroute from a system which prioritizes IPv6 over IPv4 (as all SoCal seems to have switched over to since this last Sunday).
You’ll find that the traceroute will wander off in search without ever finding its destination until max hops is reached (30 hops).
This means that either openSUSE/SUSE is not entered correctly in the global IPv6 routing table.

Anyone use any IP address blocking apps like Peer Block?
If you do, you’ll find that SUSE/openSUSE IP addresses are included in the default “Advertisers” list to be blocked.
How did SUSE/openSUSE get on a list of blocked addresses?
I assume someone should do something about that, if not for technical reasons just the idea of being associated with spammers and malicious advertisers.
Try konqueror. It times out, before it can get a connection.
I’ve had to add the IPv4 address of forums.opensuse.org to “/etc/hosts”, so that connections always try IPv4 first.
Similarly, I have added an IPv4 for download.opensuse.org to “/etc/hosts”. In this case the problem is different. I can connect with IPv6 with no problem. But mirror-brain gives me bad (slow, far away) mirrors because it is not identifying my approx. location based on IPv6.
