openSUSE installation on micro SD-card

Hey everyone,

today i tried to install openSUSE Leap 42.1 on a micro SD-card. I used a USB stick as installation medium. So far everything has gone well. The installation finished without any problems.

Then I went to the Bios to select the SD-card as Boot Option #1. But I couldn’t find the SD-card there!
What do I have to change in order to make the SD-card appear in the BIOS?

Thanks for your help!

Well, that depends very much on your BIOS (not on openSUSE). And you do not tell us anything about your BIOS firmware, nor about the hardware itself.

ASUS X5MS Notebook

Hardware:
Intel Core i7-2630QM CPU 4 x 2.00 GHz, 64 bit
8 GB Ram
Nvidia Geforce GT550M 2 GB

Bios:
BIOS Vendor: American Megatrends
Version: 209
VBIOS Version: 2117.I13N53.022
EC Version: 202d0f0001

Does the BIOS support boot from mem card??

This is a hardware/BIOS issue not an openSUSE issue

Maybe a BIOS upgrade (if one is available) might fix that. Make sure boot from external devices is enabled in the BIOS. At any rate, as gogalthorp said, this is up to the BIOS on your Motherboard.
