openSUSE installation in VirtualBox prompts "software repository errors"

Hello,

I am installing openSUSE 13.2 64bit in VirtualBox 4.3 using the installation DVD. Setups breaks while doing “software management” checks with the following message:

My host is openSUSE 13.2 as well.

Anybody who came across this issue?

Regards,

Ish

YaST is trying to access your installation medium, but can’t.

Remove or disable it in YaST->Software Repositories to get rid of the errors. Everything is available from the online repos anyway.
Or alternatively, insert the installation medium again into the virtual CD/DVD drive. Would be necessary if your VM doesn’t have Internet access e.g.

Review the reported path to your CDROM in your screenshot is the correct path to your optical device (one way is to inspect the properties of your CDROM in a file manager, another is to work your way through the path starting with /dev/ )

There was a variant of what you’re seeing that once existed in libvirt (vm install and virt install).
The same could exist in your version of VBox as well.

The DVD/CDROM object can’t be removed if you’re using it as the install source for your Guest you’re building.
