Hello! I have a problem. I try to install openSUSE 11.1 on iBook G4 from DVD. After boot kernel shows message “cd:/content Invalid signature No repositories found”…
What is this?
Try this Invalid signature suse 11.1 DVD/CD - openSUSE Forums
Though note doesn’t work for everyone.
Version 11.1 errors during install process - Page 2 - openSUSE Forums
11.1 PPC doesn’t play nice when installing from the DVD; I’ve tried myself on three separate iBooks. Apparently it was a fault with the Hardware Abstraction Layer script (it fails to start up correctly and detect the DVD drive during install, hence the error). You could try starting ‘hald’ manually from the command line by switching to a terminal during install (Command+CTRL+F2, I think) and typing: hald, however that fix didn’t work for me.
You could also try a network install if you want, that will probably work. Instead, I installed 10.3 without any problems. You might want to give 10.3 or 11.0 a go instead, that’s your best bet.
Oh, thanks, FeatherMonkey, this problem was in system date. And I have new problem, I have macbook with xubuntu, in operation system date is 18.04.09, but in openfirmware (alt+cmd+o+f at boot) date is 25.01.1970
How i can to change it?
I really haven’t got a clue there is a few a ppc users about. Hopefully given enough time someone will be able to give you some instructions.
I would only have to google it.
Another way would be the various configurations of hwclock, I can’t be too specific as I kind of fought it myself, do this from xubuntu
Here I have a link to page that helped me struggle through it.
hwclock is the hardware clock date is the system clock when they both match you shouldn’t have any problems.
