openSUSE:Factory Valid metadata not found at specified URL History

When I open YaST Software Management:

An error occurred during repository initialization.
[http-download.opensuse.org-ac357c23|http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/openSUSE:/Factory/snapshot/]
Valid metadata not found at specified URL History: -

Repository type can't be determined.

How can I fix this?

What’s the output from:

zypper lr -d

Please use code tags to post that output.+

Delete (or disable) repo #4 on that list. As far as I can tell, it doesn’t exist.

I think there was such a repo at one time, but that was probably before the current Tumbleweed setup existed.

Thanks :-]

I also get a similar error when trying to install https://software.opensuse.org/package/flash-player

http://paste.opensuse.org/view/simple/67685598

That’s probably an out-of-date web page. And it seems to have added a repo that no longer exists.

Delete that repo.

Add the packman repo:

zypper ar -f -n packman http://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/packman/suse/openSUSE_Tumbleweed/ packman

and then you should be able to install flash from the packman repo.

Thanks! :-]

Those “Factory” links should now simply point to TW or if you’re already running TW then yes, just remove them.
Has been this way since TW became our official Dev (Factory) release a year ago.
