openSUSE as Internet Gateway and Firewall

hi there…
i hav recently converted from MS to openSUSE so im stil a newbee. currently i’ve got a IPCop box setup as my internet gateway.i tried to make my openSUSE 11.0 the gateway, with firewall, DHCP, etc.
this is how my setup looks:
i installed openSUSE 11.0 - KDE 4.0. the box has 2 nic’s, eth0 and eth1. eth1 (onboard) is used to connect to the internet (dsl modem bridged) and the eth0 (PCI nic) is used to provide the connection. eth0 is on 10.0.0.1/255 and eth1 is on 10.0.1.1/255. i’ve setup the dsl0 connection so that the box has an internet connection. i’ve also setup the DHCP server. but i cannot find a way to connect the clients to the internet.

i’ve searched all weekend through posts and tutorials but no luck. any help would be appreciated.

thx

i went through the tutorial and chose the openSUSE server option.as soon as everything works, i want to setup a proxy for the server.i went through the masquerading steps but isn’t masquerading in conflict with a proxy?

Have you looked into SQUID?
http://www.squid-cache.org/
You should find the rpm for SQUID on the OpenSuse mirrors.
