Opensuse and SATA drives

Hi all,

I am trying to install OpenSuse 10.3 64bit onto this setup:

Amd 4400+X2
4gig DDR2 RAM
SATA 36 gig Raptor
SATA Optical DVD burner drive

I keep getting errors about it not finding the optical drives

Is there a secret to installing OpenSUSE onto SATA using SATA opticals?

I tried 11 and got installing grub cannot find drive errors.

My optimum setup would be OpenSUSE 10.3 64bit.

Help?

But my optimal setup would be OpenSUSE 11 64bit on this machine
