OpenSUSE and a thumb drive

My friend is having some trouble installing OpenSUSE (latest version) from a thumb drive, and he can’t seem to register here, so I thought I’d post for him.

He can write Ubuntu to the drive and boot to it fine, however, for some reason, only when OpenSUSE is written to the drive, upon starting up the system with the thumb drive plugged in, it triggers a media test failure (PXE-E61 - PXE-M0F). I should note that it does work once after first installing the iso to it, but after that, it no longer works.

He’s using unetbootin, which I am certain has caused the issues.

Any thoughts? Any ideas on how to fix the drive? This is the second one that he has had been borked by the same process.
