openSUSE 15.6 + Creative SB AE-7 - failed boot

Hi!
I use ASUS Prime X670E-Pro WiFi + Ryzen 7700. OpenSUSE 15.6 is successfully installed and works. After connection Creative SB AE-7, i’m unable to boot into OpenSUSE.
I read this topic. Similar problem, different versions of Linux, but no success.
Is there a solution to this problem?
PS. sorry my english.

Try to lower PCIe version for slot with sound card. You can do it via BIOS settings.
Even PCIe v. 1.0 might suffice.

Post

inxi -aFz

Set version PCIe 1.0 for AE-7. It didn’t help, always failed boot.

Or

Or

“inxi -aFz”
I can run this command, but to boot Linux I need to remove the sound card. In this case Linux starts successfully, so why do I need to run this command?

These abundant negative Newegg reviews suggest to me your best solution will be returning for refund and buying something else.

Hmmm. @Vetali … you posted three screenshots of the system booting up, but I don’t see any errors or warnings (maybe I missed seeing it somehow?).

Were those screenshots made during a boot with the SB installed? If no, they provide no info. Or maybe the error | warning was missed between screenshots (?).

It would be best to take a video of the bootup output, then post that.

The other possible option is to install the card, and boot until the failure … then shutdown, remove the card, boot up into the system, and capture the systemd log file for analysis.

85% give a 4 and 5 star review.
15% give a 3, 2, 1 star review

I’d say the “abundance”[1] of reviews are positive.

However, if you read the “Reviewers Comments”, they do mention issues reported:

“However, some users mention quirks with the software and an increase in energy usage.”
… and
“Some users experienced conflicts with onboard audio drivers”.

But, we don’t know what operating system is being used by many of those folks (Windows?Linux?). And personally, I have zero knowledge of Creative cards with Linux OSes.

[1] a very large quantity of something

I sorted in order of lowest rated, interested in reading only what made the reports unflattering. 6x3, 3x2 & 9x1 is 18 non-flattering, to me, an abundance in this case due to the reasons, not so much the numbers themselves. As in personal dealings where it takes 10 favorable to counteract 1 disfavorable, it seems like a reasonable policy to weigh ratings in similar fashion, avoid when more than 10%-12% are bad for any type of non-trivial reason. Seeing OS mentioned typically means little to me in such reviews, because use of Linux or not is uncommonly seen, and openSUSE mentioned rarely, unless it’s a rare Linux-only product.

Yes, the screenshots were taken with AE-7 installed. The screenshots are the last thing the monitor displays, at which point the Linux boot process stops, PC froze.

You can use newer kernel with Leap from kernel:stable:backport repo.

I installed kernel 6.12. But the problem was not solved. openSUSE frozen on boot.
the only solution to the problem is this:

blacklist snd_hda_intel
blacklist snd_hda_codec_hdmi
