OpenSUSE 13.2 unresponsive after boot

Hello, I just re-installed OpenSUSE 13.2 after 10+ hours spent on installing 13.1 then breaking.

I think I might’ve made a typo on a script to run on boot. I boot to a screen and nothing happens except the desktop trying to open “late”.

I think I made a typo somewhere on the script that is to run.

Is there a way to book to default/safe mod?

Well if you have done the full update you should have two kernels. You could try the second.

You can try recovery mode also but not knowing what script changes you made it is hard to say

You could boot from a live Linux and chroot to modify script and run mkinitrd

Thank you, I was able to use “Alt + F2”, and it accepted my remove command for the script. I forgot to make my script to lock the screen on boot to be executable.
Simply forgot chmod +x script.

For a future reference, I’ve also modified my /etc/default/grub to have zero second time-out, so I am skipping the option to choose kernel and etc. Is there a key that can be pressed during/prior to boot to pop the menu up without the time out?

Also, what’s the latest version of the kernel that’s being used?

Make it a short wait. If you skip the wait there is no fall back
