openSUSE 13.2 Release

I see many on here saying that 13.2 has been released, yet the main website says it’ll be released in 15 hours. Which is the truth? Are people currently using 13.2 just updating from the RC1 version bc the repo’s are out there for 13.2? Thanks guys

(new to SUSE ;))

Official release with ISO files available is in X hours.

You can, however, install it from the oss/non-oss/upgrade 13.2 repos if you so choose.

Ah excellent! Just a question: Why do they wait to release the ISO via the website?

Lots of things to do it all takes time and that is the announced time they chose to release it. Of course you could have the testing versions for months

Because they can and they do.
It’s just part of the process. Obviously

The downloads are now up:

I had been running 13.2 RC1, but decided to download the ISO and will reinstall. I don’t know if this way is better than updating through zypper (which already had the 13.2 packages available hours earlier), but I feel a little safer doing it this way. I’m also planning on continuing to use EXT4 for the entire drive. I’ve never had a problem with it and it works just fine.

we share the same understanding here, will keep on using ext4

Ok, I hear you. I meant no disrespect, I was just wondering :shame:

Excellent, I saw that!
Yea, I’m the same way. Been in the Ubuntu/Mint world for 3-4 years now, and still very new to openSUSE, but I always preferred doing a clean installation when I was using a RC version. I’ll be testing 13.2 out today!..now just to decide whether KDE or Gnome will be my main desktop lol
