openSUSE 13.2, Amarok Wikipedia

Hi, when I was using openSUSE 13.1, Amarok Wikipedia was working great, it fetched the lyrics and the artist biographies.
But now ( openSUSE 13.2, KDE and Amarok v 4.14.9) it only shows the lyrics, the Wikipedia tab is there, but do not work.
I have reinstall, still the same.

Does anyone knows something about that?

Regards

Could be a copyright issue???

Hi, thanks for your answer, but it wasn’t an issue, a month ago in OP 13.1, with the same collection.

Another thing I have just noticed is that the script is called : “Lyricwiki, A script to fetch lyrics from lyricwiki.org”. Maybe it does only that, but the tab Wikipedia and Lyrics are still both there.

Regards

Seems to work here. There are some that simply don’t have covers but most seem to find and install

Yes, covers and lyrics are fine for me too, it’s the artist biographies, composer, album anecdotes, etc, that is missing. It used to work in OS 13.1 and all the distributions that I have used to this day. The “Wikipedia tab.”

I can confirm your problem, and it is not only an issue in openSUSE, see here:
https://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=116&t=126928

Apparently it seems to be a problem with SSL, see 349313 – Wikipedia redirects not handled correctly when SSL is disabled for the widget
This has been fixed for the next Amarok version (to be released soon), I’ll create a package with that fix and try it…

And the Lyricwiki script is for fetching lyrics only, yes.

The fix works fine here.

If you want to you can install the package from here:
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/wolfi323:/branches:/KDE:/Extra/openSUSE_13.2/

I’ll push it to KDE:Extra too anyway (from where it will be forwarded to Tumbleweed and Packman).
An update for 13.2 (and maybe 13.1, I have to check first whether that one is affected as well and whether the patch can be backported) might be a good idea too, but we’ll need an openSUSE bugreport for that.

PS, there already is one anyway:
https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=934730

I’ll submit the update then…

Thank you very much, great job, it works perfect now.

Regards

Just a heads up:
The update has been released for 13.1 and 13.2 now, and it is available in Tumbleweed and Packman too since a week or so, in KDE:Extra even longer.

So please choose which version you want, they should be (nearly) the same anyway.
Packman’s one does have some additional features (MusicDNS support, and it’s build against ffmpeg but I’m not sure what exactly this changes, for playback it doesn’t matter as Amarok just uses Phonon for that  ).

Thanks for the tip, I have installed the Packman version 2.8.0-28.1-x86_64.
My impression is that Wikipedia, Lyrics and covers download are pretty snappy, better than earlier versions.
