Hi, when I was using openSUSE 13.1, Amarok Wikipedia was working great, it fetched the lyrics and the artist biographies.
But now ( openSUSE 13.2, KDE and Amarok v 4.14.9) it only shows the lyrics, the Wikipedia tab is there, but do not work.
I have reinstall, still the same.
Hi, thanks for your answer, but it wasn’t an issue, a month ago in OP 13.1, with the same collection.
Another thing I have just noticed is that the script is called : “Lyricwiki, A script to fetch lyrics from lyricwiki.org”. Maybe it does only that, but the tab Wikipedia and Lyrics are still both there.
Yes, covers and lyrics are fine for me too, it’s the artist biographies, composer, album anecdotes, etc, that is missing. It used to work in OS 13.1 and all the distributions that I have used to this day. The “Wikipedia tab.”
I’ll push it to KDE:Extra too anyway (from where it will be forwarded to Tumbleweed and Packman).
An update for 13.2 (and maybe 13.1, I have to check first whether that one is affected as well and whether the patch can be backported) might be a good idea too, but we’ll need an openSUSE bugreport for that.
Just a heads up:
The update has been released for 13.1 and 13.2 now, and it is available in Tumbleweed and Packman too since a week or so, in KDE:Extra even longer.
So please choose which version you want, they should be (nearly) the same anyway.
Packman’s one does have some additional features (MusicDNS support, and it’s build against ffmpeg but I’m not sure what exactly this changes, for playback it doesn’t matter as Amarok just uses Phonon for that ).
Thanks for the tip, I have installed the Packman version 2.8.0-28.1-x86_64.
My impression is that Wikipedia, Lyrics and covers download are pretty snappy, better than earlier versions.
