openSUSE 13.1 - Monitor not detected with DisplayLink

Hi,

I am connecting an external monitor via a Docking Station.
All the components are Dell.
My operating system is OpenSUSE 13.1.
I’m not an expert at all.
I am trying to follow the https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/DisplayLink guide.
Both the modules xf86-video-fbdev and xf86-video-modesetting are up to date.
When I give the command modprobe udl nothing appear.
udlfb is in the blacklist

However, the output of

xrandr --listproviders

is

Providers: number : 1
Provider 0: id: 0x4a cap: 0xb, Source Output, Sink Output, Sink Offload crtcs: 4 outputs: 7 associated providers: 0 name:Intel

I’ve read several treads about it but many of them are out of date and I couldn’t find any solution.

Somebody can help me?

Update: I also tried to connect the screen via a HDMI cable, it is completely undetected

A little more info about your hardwaer would help. What’s the output of this:

/sbin/lspci | egrep 'VGA|3D'

Thank you hank_se, and I’m sorry I’m not a linux guru

/sbin/lspci | egrep 'VGA|3D'

00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 4th Gen Core Processor Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 06)
02:00.0 3D controller: NVIDIA Corporation GK107GLM [Quadro K1100M] (rev ff)

On the guide I posted, since the first configuration (via xrandr) didn’t work, I am trying to follow the Xinerama setup, but I cannot understand what “edit your server layout” means.

I suspected something like that. Your system is an Optimus one and that means problems. There is however something called Bumblebee that can handle those systems fairly well, but concerning HDMI and displayports I haven’t seen much, if any, succes.
How to install Bumblebee is described here:

How to at least get access to the HDMI port is described here:
