Opensuse 13.1 KDE default Shutdown/Boot

Hello,

There is one feature that I am lately realizing that I really like about OpenSuse 13.1,

I do quite a lot of multi-tasking and often I am in a hurry from one place to the other, to conserve my battery(at most I get 1.5 hrs) I shut down the computer while some of my pdf files and editors are open. When I boot the computer, it seems that all of the applications are loaded in each individual “virtual-desktop” prior to shut-down.

I was curious if this was a default KDE or Opensuse feature?

KDE It may be in other desktops but KDE has the feature
