OpenSUSE 13.1 installation problems

I’m trying to install OpenSUSE 13.1 with KDE from DVD on a new machine with i5-3350OP CPU and 8GB of RAM.

After the first attempt, booting from DVD, installation got stuck at message that looked like “VFS: disk quotas dquot_:somthing:”

It seems to have installed GRUB which now offers Installation, Rescue System and Check Installation Media options. Picking either Installation or Rescue System leads to all font becoming unreadably garbled after “Loading UDev…” message. The installation seems to proceed for a while with the unreadable font before getting stuck.

Please help. Thanks.

You mean the full DVD, about 4 GB? Or the KDE/Gnome lives, that are a
bit bigger than a CD, but under 1 GB?

The first step is to verify the checksum of the downloaded ISO file,
previous to burning it.

Some instructions here:
http://software.opensuse.org/131/en

If that checksum is correct, the second step is to verify that the DVD
also has the correct one.
