OpenSuSE 13.1 Has No inittab File

Hello All,

I just recently installed the following on a CuBox-i2 Mini-PC:

OpenSuSE 13.1 (Bottle) (armv7hl)**

  • *This was compiled for ARM type **processors...*

And the Desktop environment for this is *E17 (Enlightenment).

But anyway… I was trying to enable MINICOM to be started automatically at boot time, as it says to do in the manual, but I do NOT seem to have a /etc/inittab file located anywhere in /etc… Is this not used anymore in 13.1?

If not, how should I go about starting minicom at boot time?

Any thoughts or suggestions would be much appreciated!

Thanks in Advance,
Matt

openSUSE 13.1 uses systemd; this Arch Wiki page may help: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/working_with_the_serial_console

Hey John, thanks for the reply!

Humm, Ok that makes sense then for why there is no inittab… I’ll check out your link and post back after I read through it.
Thanks again for the reply, much appreciated!

Thanks Again,
Matt
