OpenSUSE 13.1 Cannot update system

Hi

I recently attempted a software update but got the following message in a pop-up window entitled: ‘Could not get updates’:

Failed to process request
More details
File '/repodata/repomd.xml not found on medium ‘http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/editors/openSUSE_13.1/

I had a look at http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/editors/ in a browser and note that it contains the folder ‘openSUSE_13.2’ but not ‘openSUSE_13.1’.

Is the absence of the 13.1 repository temporary or should I upgrade to 13.2?

Thanks

openSUSE 13.1 is not more official maintained, but you get Updates from the Update Repo by the Evergreen Team.

Because of not maintained, several openSUSE 13.1 Repos are deleted.

Thanks for the information, I think I will upgrade to 13.2.
On that topic: is it possible to upgrade and retain all my data or would I have to back everything up and then transfer it back once the upgrade is complete?

It’s good practice to back up important user data regardless of the upgrade method. Then you can proceed with an online upgrade if desired.
