openSUSE 12.3 root login issue: don't know initial password, may need to reset

Hello folks,
I just installed openSUSE 12.3 and cannot install new software because I do not know the root password. I just installed the OS with one login and password. Is there a default root password with initial installation? If not, how can I reset the root password?

The default is that root has the same password as the first user you
created during install.

We don’t close the thread just because it is solved. I normally suggest adding in solved to your last title post, just as I have done. You can also add the tag at the bottom of the message thread that says Solved, which I will do for you and happy you found the solution you needed.
