That’s right. When the freeze came over the development of openSUSE 12.3 KDE 4.10 was not even released yet.
Re. the KDE:Extra repos: they have to match the KDE repo version, i.e. if you use KDE:Release:410, then you should also use KDE:Extra:KDE_Release_410_openSUSE_12.3.
Yes, KDE-4.10.1 was released only 3 days before openSUSE-12.3 was finalised… The link you have is to a directory. The repository is at: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/Release:/410/openSUSE_12.3/
The code that I provided adds that same repository, albeit directly from a major European mirror, and updates your system to KDE-4.10.1. If you keep that repository you will be able to use it for theKDE monthly updates.

I don’t understand the whole thread.
I added the KDE exta repository using yast,
Then searched for yawp. the dependecies showed it needed KDE 10.1.0
I installed with no error messages and it works fine.
Nope. The distro comes as is, updates for the distro’s versions will appear in the Update repos. If you want a newer KDE, GNOME, Kernel etc. you’ll have to add repos.
I have the same issue as the OP and the answers here would sort me out, but I have one question. I am in the US so although I know I could use the European mirror it would make more sense for me to use one over here. Is there a list of mirrors that I could look at, or does anybody know of one of the west coast coast that I could use?
Thanks
If you need rsync:// or are just curious (or for the rare occasions – e.g. sometimes on release days – when the meta-link provides a poor choice), there is a list of mirrors at: http://mirrors.opensuse.org/YaST
