openSUSE 12.3 Guest on VMware Player 6 Windows 7 Host

Hello,

I’m using the new VMPlayer 6 on Windows 7 and trying to install openSUSE 12.3. This caused me no problem in version 5.

This is a clean install from the DVD ISO which is the 32Bit version. When installing I choose ‘I will nstall the operating system later’.

I choose 1280MB for RAM, and a 25GB Hard Disk. The installation seems to go fine, but when finished it just shows the green openSUSE backgraound and there are icons or other information.

Just so I could test the ISO, I also installed VirtualBox and the installation worked fine.

Please let me know if you need any-more information.

I did try and ask this is the VMware forum but did not get a reply.

Yet I think that’s the place where you should be, specially since openSUSE does work in Vbox. You might be lucky to find someone here that uses the VMware player on Windows, but there won’t be many.
