For opensuse 12.2 installed minimal x, Slim worked when I used LXDE and then when I reinstalled with a minimal system it only is used when I boot restore of desktop or pae otherwise the login manager reverts to xdm.

Slim works fine in my 12.1 laptop installed with a minimal x system. In the one that the one with 12.2 minimal x install it doesnāt.
12.2 in booting now has a ārecovery modeā listed for each kernel installed. Slim in that machine will only have slim when booting from ārecovery modeā otherwise it reverts to xdm even though slim was choosen with yast for display.
