I am using openSUSE 12.2 M2, without using “nomodeset” boot option, XORG crashes with any context menu (right click, click on NM applet, etc.), should I file a bug report? an what package?
What video card d’u have?
I had the same problem after installed Intel 2.17 or 2.18 drivers from Xorg repo.
Got back to 12.1 distro drivers.
Intel HD Graphics 3000 (Integrated into Sandy Bridge CPU), using Lenovo b570e.
I am using “nomodeset”.
There’s a bunch of email on the factory mailing list about problems with the intel graphics driver in M2.
Using KDE, just holding the mouse pointer over the NetworkManager icon in the tray was enough to crash Xorg. Using “nomodeset” stopped that, though at the cost of crappy graphics.
There is probably a bug report already. But check, and create one if there is already one there. Post the bug number here.
I found it reported (not by me) and resolved.
