Today I created a 12.2 virtual machine under Virtualbox 4.2.0. The host system is Windows 7. The desktop environment is KDE. When I drag any window across the screen it jumps to random positions, and often gets resized to an arbitrary size. It also appears that the mouse button gets released and clicked at random. Interestingly, an OpenSUSE 12.1 virtual machine with exactly the same settings runs smoothly, without any problems. I can switch from one VM to the other repeatedly, and the erratic behavior in 12.2 is repeatable. Does anyone else know of this problem? Is there a workaround? At this point I cannot use 12.2.
Might be a problem with the drivers in Vbox. It sounds like a Oracle problem to me. Did you install the right ones?

use the industrial strength and stable OS as the host…
you have it upside down and backwards…

That may be true, but version 12.1 of OpenSUSE works perfectly. So something that changed between 12.1 and 12.2 makes 12.2 unstable in this setup.
This is not helpful. Erasing the custom Windows image from my company computer and replacing it with Linux is not an option.
You did not answer the question about the drivers, do you have the same
version of virtualbox guest additions installed on the 12.1 and the 12.2
system?

yes something has changed between 12.1 and 12.2 which must be taken
into account…the VBox driver must match the new kernel–if it does not
it won’t run right until you update…so, if you only moved from 12.1 to
12.2 in the VM and did nothing to also update your VBox . . .
note: since you didn’t supply the info about “Erasing…and
replacing…is not an option” in your initial post it is impossible
for any of us to guess that you can’t follow the best advice available…
please be more complete in future questions…it saves both our time,
and yours…
Yes, guest additions 4.2.0 is installed on both.
