opensuse 12.2 installed under esxi - display resolution

Hello,
I have installed opensuse 12.2 under esxi 5.1
Installed vmware tools
Maximum display resolution I can get is 1280x800…
I can see other resolutions but when i select any of them the system hungs
Opensuse 11.4 installed under the same esxi 5.1 works perfectly fine

Any suggestions ?

openSUSE should automatically install an open source version of VMware tools when initially installed and a VMware environment is detected. Try switching back an forth with the proprietary VMware tools downloadable from VMware.
