openSuse 12.2: How do I transfer install from 16GB thumb to 32 GB thumb,

:\ I have a very successful install on the 16GB drive. I want to transfer it to a 32GB
thumb, which will be bootable. There are two partitions:
part1: 6GB Primary
part2: 6GB Primary
But I want to apply all the patches, and then install more software, and I am afraid of
running out of space.
Suggestions will be appreciated.

Sincerely,
Frank

I would either reinstall on the new drive and copy files over, or use dd
to clone the existing drive to the new larger drive, and then use gparted
to resize the partitions.

Hello and welcome here.

It may be that the answer above is to your satisfaction. But for any future posting you want to do (and you are welcome either for this or other questions), please do not change your font. The default font here fits everybody. For many this will look as shouting and that is not appreciated.

Also, while this is a hidden, but important feature, I want to explain to you how to post computer text in the posts here. Do so by copy/paste from the terminal emulator of the prompt, the command, the output and the next prompt with one sweep of the mouse in between CODE tags in the post. You get the CODE tags by clicking on the # button in the toolbar above the post editor.

And that brings us to the next request. Plaese whenever possible do not tell stories, but post computer facts. Thus not

There are two partitions:

part2: 6GB Primary

fdisk -l

Welcome again,

Thank you for your direct answer. I shall try that after I solve some of the current problems that I have created.
