I upgraded to opensuse 12.1 and my printer works fine except when I try to print something with barcodes like a bestbuy rewards certificate. It will print everything but the codes ie vertical lines with numbers on it.
I can print them just fine with another computer running 11.4, on the same printer. Not sure what is why 12.1 will not print everything on the page. Other than that I love 12.1 so far.

Print to file and then check the file with gv.

I intentionally did not mention print to pdf, that gets more processing.
Any program before printing has to generate a postscript intermediate file
that then is sent to the printer process. The idea is to intercept that
file and see how good it is. The PDF is generated usually on a second step.

No, but I did, as the OP may have selected either…
Sorry I didn’t know what gv was, I installed gv and opened the print to file and it printed the whole document just fine. So what does this mean? I have to use gv to print these types of documents or is there something I need to fix. Also why would it print fine with gv but not normally like 11.4, and 12beta did.

So you tried to print from gv and it printed right?
IMO it is a bug with your desktop of choice. Wait for comments, then report
in bugzilla. Or post in the main mail list, there is a print expert there.
Another possibility is print to file, then use lpr command line to print it.

It seems there have been bugs in ghostscript. There is now a testing package with ghostscript 9.05 which seems to solve these problems (it does for me). Check here: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=735824
I have had this problem also with not being able to print barcodes and some other things. Updated to Ghostscript 9.05 from jsmeix’s repository and it has solved the problem.
Question is does anyone know when this will be available as an update on opensuse.org/update.12.1 repository?
