I keep getting this glitch on two different dvd lightscribe drives, Samsung and LG. ‘can’t write at 16x, switching to 17X’ . Can someone explain this? Thanks.

You probably refer to a program burning CD’s like k3b, which I myself partly love,
because it on the one hand runs just fine under openSUSE 11.4,
but which on the other hand just doesn’t do what it should, like under 12.1.
But anyway this is an application included in openSUSE,
and Applications would probably be a better place for this question
than the install/boot/login forum.

This is about burning the install disk, but I digress. Just delete this thread. I meant to post this on apps.
Maybe the hardware just does not like 16 and likes odd numbers or the disk you are using??? 
I’d not think it a big deal I often see the speed changes and the difference between 17 and 16 is no really big deal.
