i have installed
opensuse 12.1 DVD i586 and x86
and also over the Net
The Installation and check work fine then he finish and then
i always go the same problem.
the the last thing what happen
starting YaST2*
error can’ create transaction lock on /var/lib/rpm/.rpm.lock (no such file or directory)
Der Installierte Kernel wird mittels kexec geladen
Es wird versucht, den installierten kernel mit kexec zu laden (statt einen neustart)
bitte warten
shuting down Name Service Cache Daemon [done]
then i have to press the power button to reboot - then it is not finding the partition and i have to reinstall
hope somebody could help
i the german Forum there have been no valuable feedback in 3 Days :’(

What partitions do you have? Old and newly created. Types, disks, etc.

it is all newly created / /boot /dev /opt and so on.
It seems to me he is formating everything

with poweroff a switch off the laptop
with PowerOn the computer try to boot and can’t find the place to boot.

Could you be more specific? It is not common nowdays to create an /opt
partition, so your partition setup is not typical. Your system is not
comming up, but perhaps you can boot a live system and paste here - using
code tags, please! see the howto forum for instructions - the result of
running “fdisk -l” (that’s lower case L) in a terminal.
