openSUSE 12.1 gets good early press

Looks like openSUSE 12.1 is already turning heads and getting good reviews 27 days before we finish it!

OpenSUSE 12.1 delivers Fedora punch with GNOME 3 • The Register

Would it be nicer if they mentioned we actually support KDE just as well as we do GNOME, but oh well

Just a question. I haven’t followed the roadmap at all, but i am still
curious.
What happend to the new filessystem, will it come? Since i only have one
machine i am very hesitant to install it. I thin it was BTRFS or so…

When I installed 12.1 beta, the BTRFS filesystem was available (not used by default). I don’t have a clue about it’s stability. I am planning another install this weekend to try out BTRFS.

Hi
It’s there, using it on my test install on the netbook.

It would be nice if someone could write about the experience. This was
something i was looking for. But so far i am not sure if it can already
replace ext4 or 3. Its still unstable from what i understand.
