openSUSE 12.1 chrooted rescue might require mount--bind of /run

In reading bugzilla reports on openSUSE 12.1, I noticed that there’s a new (to me) special filesystem, “/run”, that may need mount --bind treatment when running in a chroot environment, such as when using Rescue mode. Mind, I don’t have firm evidence at this point that /run is necessary for, say, chrooted yast grub updates, but I am suspicious. I thought I’d bring this detail to the attention of other forum users who may require find it useful.

It probably depends on what you are trying to rescue.

I described my rescue efforts for 12.1 rc1 on my blog, at: Rescuing Susie

You could ask the devs in the factory mail list.
