openSUSE 11 xen kernel - ext3 mount superblock fails

System is a Dual-Core Intel box, 2.2 GHZ, 2 GB Ram, SATA Hard Drive Primary, PATA Hard Drive Secondary, DVD-RW Drive.

I’ve just done a fresh install of openSUSE 11 and was wanting to use the Xen kernel to try virtualizing Windows Server 2003.

However, after I installed Xen and the Hypervisor utilities I can not successfully start the Xen kernel. I get a failure message mounting the ext3 file system on my PATA hard drive. (The drive is a hold over from my openSUSE 10.1 system and it has non-os related files on it.) The PATA hard drive works fine under the standard openSUSE 11 kernel.

Error message follows:

The superblock could not be read or does not describe a correct ext2 filesystem. If the device is valid and it really contains an ext2 filesystem (and not swap or ufs or something else), then the superblock is corrupt, and you might try running e2fsck with an alternate superblock:
e2fsck -b 8193 <device>

Any Ideas where this is coming from? All help is appreciated greatly.

Thanks.
