why opensuse 11 don’t have rtorrent in it’s repositories?
rtorrent ist IMHO the best torrent-Client, it don’t require a x-session, it’s very fast and it do 100% what it was intendend to.
do I now have to compile it from the source and check every mounth for an update?
Now I have installed opensuse 11 as a server and I even don’t have rtorrent.

I was a little angry and disapointed that opensuse 11 don’t have this for me very essential package. But I think it’s because a bug that it won’t compile with gcc4.3.

great :mad:, but thank you anyway.
There are only packages for Open Suse 10.x but no for Suse 11. And if I click on a package for OpenSuse 10.x a dialog tell me that I can’t proceed.
Am I the only one using rtorrent?
if you can’t find an RPM for it, maybe you could try compiling from source? no?
you need to add the packman repository to get access to a SUSE rpm for rtorrent.
go to yast
click software, then software repositories
click add ( down left)
choose specify url
next
name: packman
url : Index of /suse/11.0
click next and finish
then go to yast>software again, choose software management.
here, search for rtorrent
you should find 3 results, the first being rtorrent, the other 2 debug info and debug source.
just install rtorrent.
after all this, don’t forget to get the example .rtorrent.rc script to config the client propperly.
