OpenSuse 11 Thinkpad T60p Fn Keys

Function keys do not seem to be working fine for the OpenSuse 11 Thinkpad T60p combination. Brightness control does not work, wireless indicator is always off.

Is there some respite for this? Else Ubuntu 8.10 out of the box seems to fit Thinkpad T60p nicer!

thanks,
pankaj

Unfortunately these sorts of problems with function keys is common for Linux installations on laptops. On my Samsung Q45 the volume keys work but yet the wireless and brightness keys don’t. For my laptop there is apparently a workaround to make this better by downgrading the BIOS as the most recent version of the BIOS broke the compatibility of certain function keys. Perhaps a BIOS upgrade or downgrade will improve the situation for you.

11.1 install on my t60p, with updates, brightness works, so does the headlight atop the LCD. Wireless NIC not though…fortunately it’s always “on”.
