openSUSE 11 - still not Online with nVidia 680i

Hi,

since the last two Releases it is impossible to go online with a nVidia 680i Chipset.

IP (192.168.178.2) and Subnet (255.255.255.0) and Routing (192.168.178.1) is set to the correct IP´s. IPv6 is deactivated and the Trayicon for the Connection is shown after deactivating IPv6.

Only the Broadcast IP seems still wrong : 192.168.178.254 (!!!???)

And NO - i don´t want to use DHCP.

BTW - no other of the great Distris have this Problems. I used Knoppix, Ubuntu, PCLinuxOS, Mandriva and Fedora - any of those are immediately online after entering the IP, Subnet and Routing-IP.

I can propose see this link:

How to create Static IP address? - Page 3 - openSUSE Forums

How are you trying to connect to the internet? If you are trying to create a static IP, you should be configuring the system to use ifup, rather than networkmanager.

Tested both same Effect.

Absolutely no Effect - and this Description is in Fact wrong. It makes no Sense to left the Routing-IP blank.
